Stelios has donated a total of £3,000,000 to both his alma mater, the London School of Economics and the City of London Cass Business School, in order to fund another generation of graduates. Each year both educational establishments will welcome 10 Stelios' Scholars each and in total over a ten year period there will be about 200 Stelios Scholars.
At the LSE 4 scholarships will be from the UK, 1 from Cyprus, 1 from Greece and 4 from other EU countries (Stelios himself is of Greek Cypriot origin). A space in the LSE's New Academic Building will be names after Stelios who graduated from the LSE in 1987 with an BSc in Economics (Industry and Trade).
And at the Cass Business School two of the ten scholarships have been earmarked for students wishing to follow in Stelios' footsteps by studying an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance. One is earmarked for those wanting to study an MSc in Energy, Trade and Finance or Logistics, Trade and Finance and one will be for those wanting to study on Cass' full time MBA programme. The remaining scholarships are open to those wanting to study a finance related postgraduate degree at Cass.
