Low-cost airport express bus operator easyBus has announced the appointment of Jonathan Crick as chief executive officer. easyBus is one of the easyGroup ventures pioneered by serial entrepreneur Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of easyJet, and currently operates non-stop low-cost services between central London and Gatwick, Stansted and London Luton airports.
Jonathan has over 25 years experience in the travel and transport industry. He is familiar with the low-cost business model, having spent 15 years at Monarch Airlines, holding board positions as both commercial director and sales & marketing director, with specific responsibilities for their low-fares scheduled division. Prior to Monarch, Jonathan has also held senior posts at travel businesses, including Inter European Airways, the former Owners Abroad Group (now First Choice) and Saga Group.
Sir Stelios commented: “I’m delighted that Jonathan is joining the easy group of companies at this time. easyBus has established itself as the smart way to get to and from London’s airports quickly, in comfort and in an environmentally friendly way – and of course at fantastically low fares. Jonathan's low-cost credentials make him a perfect fit for the business and his experience will help easyBus achieve its ambitious growth plans.”
Jonathan Crick added: “Having proved that the innately appealing easyGroup value proposition works just as well on airport express buses as it does in the low-cost airline sector, I am of course very excited to be joining easyBus to further develop the business, both within the London area and subsequently in new markets.”
Jonathan takes over from Vasant Mistry, who joined easyBus in June 2007 and is leaving the company to pursue other interests.
