easyMobile.nl launches in the Netherlands

Amsterdam, 24 October 2005 - With the official launch of easyMobile.nl, a new, transparent, no-nonsense mobile telephony company enters the Dutch market tomorrow. The low attractive prices combined with outstanding customer care offer great value: you only pay for what you use. The setup is exactly the same as that of hugely successful Danish sister company Telmore, which, launched in 2000, now has over 10 percent of the market in Denmark.

Following on the success of Telmore in Denmark and the valuable experience of easyMobile in the UK earlier this year, the concept now starts in the Netherlands. This is the second country where easyMobile is launching this new approach to mobile telephony, a market very well suited for exactly this concept. "I truly believe Dutch consumers will be attracted to easyMobile.nl. It's simple, has low prices and a high service level. You can compare our no frills concept to easyJet", says Henning Vest, CEO of easyMobile.nl and president of TDC Mobile International. "Rather than spending our money on high street stores or giving away subsidized mobile handsets tied to complex tariff plans and incomprehensible long term contracts, we intend to spend our time and money on providing our customers with the most attractive and transparent service in the market."

TDC and easyGroup: a winning team
easyMobile.nl is a collaboration between Telmore International Holding A/S (majority owned by TDC, the Danish telecom operator) and the easyGroup. This partnership, concluded in 2004, is based on a brand licensing agreement. Henning Vest says: "I am confident that easyMobile.nl will be successful in the Dutch market because of its clear and simple product offering, which will provide customers with outstanding value for money." Being a purely internet based MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) easyMobile.nl uses the network of an existing operator, but with its own identity. Henning Vest: "I am very happy that we have concluded an agreement with Telfort. It's one of the Dutch leading mobile operators with a high quality network."

easyGroup's founder and CEO Stelios Haji-Ioannou is behind a number of companies, the most well-known being low cost airline easyJet. The companies operate according to the same simple, web-based business concept. Telmore (part of TDC) made Danish consumers familiar with high quality service on the Internet and set new standards for the strong combination of low price and high service level. In only five years Telmore has set the pace in terms of price, customer service and customer satisfaction. According to a survey (October 2005) conducted by research institute Gallup GTI, Telmore's customer satisfaction score stands at 90, an outstanding result.
