Starting its 2007 summer season in style, easyCruise bucked tradition once again, forgoing a godmother and instead launching the cruise lines new Greek itinerary with a surprise concert by famous Greek singer, Michalis Hatzigiannis and raising 100,000 euros for Greek charity, the 'Together for Children' Foundation.
Guests were invited to say 'Bon Voyage' to easyCruiseOne at a quayside launch party, held the evening before the ship set sail for its maiden voyage in Greece and the surrounding islands. The highlight of the evening was the charity auction, hosted by stunning Greek actress Betty Maggira. At auction were easyCruiseOne's four suites on the maiden cruise, which thanks to the generosity of the guests, raised nearly 40,000 euros. Not content with that though, Stelios himself then doubled the amount and donated the revenue from the sale of all the maiden cruise cabins to the charity - Together for Children - to raise a grand total of 100,0000 euros.
The night closed with a surprise concert by the popular Greek singer, Michalis Hatzigiannis, who recently performed live at the Apollo Hammersmith in the UK, an event part-sponsored by easyCruise.
The launch party marks easyCruise's arrival in the Aegean with an itinerary that has proved to be easyCruise's most popular yet. |
