Stelios introduces low cost international mobile calls

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, serial entrepreneur and owner of easyGroup, is introducing a new mobile phone service that will dramatically drive down the cost of making international calls from a mobile phone.
 
The new system, launched by easyMobile.com, allows anyone to make international calls at local rates, without a computer, download or phone card.
 
All customers need to do is register the phone number of family, friends or colleagues and they will be forwarded an easyMobile number to use at a fraction of the cost of an international call.
 
That means, for instance, that to call someone in the United States from the UK will only cost £0.009 per minute, on top of the standard mobile local provider charge.
 
The service has been launched in a partnership with global communications operator Rebtel and will be exclusively available on easyMobile.com.
 
The mobile VoIP services offered by easyMobile will be compatible with any mobile phone without modification, is quick to set-up, and works with consumers’ existing contracts with their UK operators.
 
Anthony Robb-John, Managing Director of easyGroup, said: “Making international calls using traditional mobile phone operators is no longer the most cost effective and efficient way of staying in touch.

“Mobile VoIP works and is easy to use. There is a big market for this kind of service to and from the UK.”

There are at least 5.5 million British-born people living abroad, and more than 1million non-British EU citizens living in the UK. In London alone, one in three people were born abroad, and at least another 10,000 foreign-born citizens are settling in London each month.
