The second easyHotel is now open

easyHotel in Basel, Switzerland is now open. With prices starting at £11 (CHF 24) a night for an en-suite double room, easyHotel has brought unprecedented good value to Switzerland where hotel rooms are usually sold for a much higher price. easyHotel in Basel has 24 rooms, varying in size from 9 square metres to 16 square metres and is located in the centre of town at Riehenring 19. All rooms have a double bed and an en-suite shower room as well as pay as you go TV. 21 rooms have a window and those without a window have air conditioning. Sales at easyHotel in Basel are also showing very encouraging early signs and in the two days since opening the hotel has been selling room nights at well over its capacity on a daily basis.

easyHotel in London has been a roaring success. The first easyHotel opened its doors on 1 August and has been full or nearly full every night for over a month, without the need for any advertising expenditure. Prices start at £20 for an en-suite double room and are currently priced up to about £45 during periods of high demand.

easyHotel brings great value to city centres where the price of property is high by giving consumers the chance to trade off space for a better price. easyHotel rooms in London are 60, 70 or 80 square foot in size (approximately 6-9 square metres) and the property has 34 rooms in a former bed and breakfast which had just 20 bedrooms.

The easyHotel in Basel, therefore, is operated by a franchisee and the easyGroup is in discussions with other parties interested in becoming easyHotel franchisees, including franchisees interested in operating further easyHotels in London and the UK.
